It is hoped that we will be able to run a series of talks on matters relating to health and wellbeing over the coming months.
We are pleased to inform you that our first presenter will be Dr Andleeb Zafar who is the Medical Retina Consultant and service lead for age-related macular degeneration at Spa Medica which is a company providing treatment services on behalf of the NHS to patients with eye conditions including cataracts, and macular degeneration. Dr Zafar will talk to us mainly about age-related macular degeneration but will also discuss cataracts and glaucoma.
The talk will be on 15th January at 4pm at the Ministry Centre in the cinema room upstairs.
On 17th February, Karen Bradbury from Inhealth Ltd will talk to us about the management of chronic pain, in the Scout & Guide Hut at 10am.
Another date for your diary is 18th March at 3pm at a venue to be determined when Dr Dennis Wat, Respiratory Consultant at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital will speak about the respiratory condition COPD, and I have also asked that he includes some information on sleep apnoea in his talk.
If you are interested in attending the talk on 15th January, please let me know by email so that we have an idea of numbers and also this would provide the opportunity for us to notify you of future events.
