Pilates

Pilates is ideal for improving general fitness. Our Teacher focuses on gentler Pilates exercises, which aim to improve balance and posture as well as muscle tone. They are suitable for absolute beginners and and more experienced participants.

It is planned to recommence 20 July (Tuesday classes) and 23 July (Friday classes), subject to the dates in the Government Roadmap being achieved.


Arrangements in ‘Normal’ times

If you haven’t tried Pilates before and would like a taster session or further information,  please phone the Coordinators.

These courses are taught by a professional Pilates teacher whose teaching focuses on gentler Pilates exercises.  The aim is to improve balance and posture as well as muscle tone. They are suitable for absolute beginners and can be extended for the more experienced.

Please bring a mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Courses must be booked and paid for before the term.

While the usual Pilates  Sessions at the Scout & Guide HQ have been suspended during times of Social Distancing, there have been opportunities to take part in remote classes organised by the Pilates Teacher – see Pilates via Zoom.

Hi everyone,

Hope this email finds you well. It has been a very strange year for us all and I am sure we didn’t expect things to last this long. However we have the vaccine now and spring is around the corner.
I am sure you are missing your pilates as much as I am missing teaching you but we are still not able to get back to the Hall just yet. However I would like to give you the opportunity to try my online classes via “Zoom”.
You can try your first class for FREE and below is my website so you can contact me or you can call or txt me.
I am still able to observe you well, as I have set up a studio at home with a large screen to see you clearly.
Lots of people are using Zoom to keep in touch with family and friends and it is now part of most of our lives. You may even be doing other U3A activities via this platform.
Please give it a go, I am sure you will be glad you did. A few of the U3A members are already attending and feeling the benefit.
