Proposed concerts for Liverpool Philharmonic Group 2023/24
This group aims to support the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. We try to attend a concert each month. We are grateful for the help of some lovely members who voted for the new programme – so we hope you will join us.
Seats are reserved in the rear circle. However – seats in the stalls can be reserved and the cost adjusted accordingly. All seat prices include coach transfers.
For further information re our concerts – please access the link to the RLPO
Saturday 4 May: Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.3. Walton – Overture, Scapino: Rachmaninov – Piano Concerto No3: Tchaikovsky – Symphony No.5 . Nobuyuki Tsujii – (the blind pianist). Domingo Hindoyan – Conductor. Cost £35.
This concert is booked and paid for. If you booked and did not leave a contact number please pay the treasurer directly. There is a waiting list – so tickets may be passed on.
The orchestra goes to Japan, so this will be our final concert for this season.
All concerts start at 7.30pm. The cost includes the coach which will leave Aughton Village Hall at 6.15pm
Thursday 9th May at Horizons – 09.30 to 11.00 am – we will meet to choose the concerts for the new season. Please come along and cast your votes to enable us to choose the concerts that you would like to go to. As last year, we will go with the majority votes.
Bookings can be made at Horizons Meetings in the Scout & Guide HQ – Thursday mornings – at the Philharmonic Table in the Aughton Room ie the smaller hall. However – from the 11th April – the table will not be manned for the next few weeks.
Anyone unable to make Horizons on that date – please contact me any time, Ann – group leader – see above – to make a booking. Each concert booked should be paid for with a separate cheque or with the card machine. Please note: The Philharmonic now requires booking confirmation 4 weeks in advance and there can be a demand for tickets – so book early to avoid disappointment. Cancellations will only be accepted up to then and the cheque returned. After that, if you cannot pass your ticket to a friend, we will try to resell it at Horizons. If we are unable to do so, there will be no refunds.
Ann Robinson – Philharmonic Visits Group Leader.
