Our 11th Annual General Meeting is to be held at Christ Church Aughton, on Thursday 8th May 2014. This took place immediately after the Special General Meeting which was held at 10.15

U3A Exec_statement_2014 on the constitution and the quorum requirements

SGM_2014_minutes – The Motion that “the quorum for General Meetings be 100″ was carried. There were 219 votes in favour; 3 votes against and 2 abstentions


AGM Motions at the 2014 AGM – all passed with large majorities

Motion 1:-That all the Executive Committee minutes be published on the website starting with those of their next meeting after the AGM.
Proposed by Margaret Wiechers, seconded by Judy Ingman
An addendum that a copy of the written minutes should be put on the U3A notice board was made by Dennis Morley at the AGM and generally accepted.

Motion 2:-That Aughton & Ormskirk U3A wishes to incorporate a Trustee body within its Constitution.
Proposed by Sue Watkinson, seconded by Stan Bryan
(for 170 – against 51)

Motion 3:-A working party be set up to implement the wishes of the membership by drawing up a Constitution which includes a Trustee body. The working party to report to the membership as soon as practicable and not later than the 2015 AGM.
