We are very fortunate, this year, to be treated to a series of tales written by members following an initiative from Sue Watkinson, Trustee and member of Communications Subcommittee. Here are the initial examples, already published in one of the monthly enews of 2021.
- A day I will never forget by David Wotherspoon: A loyal football fan enjoys his club’s greatest game ever
- My Experience as an Oxford Vaccine Trial Volunteer by Liz: The inside story direct from a u3a member
- Diana’s Funeral by Margaret Kitchen: A reporter recalls the day she covered this iconic event
- A Mystery Monolith by Judy Ingman: A strange artifact appears in the Hightown sand dunes
- Uncle Albert by Pamela Ball: The poignant story of a young airman remembered
Many thanks to Sue for having this idea in the first place and then promoting it. And, of course, the efforts of the authors are applauded and much appreciated.
If you have a suitable tale to tell ie one in which you have some direct or indirect involvement and you would like to share it with us, please contact webteam@aughon-ormskirk-u3a.co.uk.
