By | October 13, 2019

Age UK Lancashire is launching a brand new service in West Lancashire for people living with mild to moderate dementia.

Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) is a 12 weekly programme designed for people living with mild to moderate dementia and is the only non-drug treatment recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to improve cognition, independence and wellbeing.  Taking place in a safe group environment, participants will take part in meaningful and stimulating activities designed to maintain or increase levels of mental functioning, independence and happiness.

The initial pilot course is available to older veterans (born before 1st January 1950) living in the West Lancashire area.

Visit our website for more information:  https://www.ageuk.org.uk/lancashire/our-services/maintenance-cognitive-stimulation-therapy/

We expect a high level of interest from potential participants, due to limited places please register your interest early to avoid disappointment.  The waiting list for future courses is now open.
